Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for tigervnc.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 6 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2011:0871 advisory.

- tigervnc: vncviewer can send password to server without proper validation of the X.509 certificate (CVE-2011-1775)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL tigervnc package based on the guidance in RHSA-2011:0871.
