Synopsis

The remote Oracle Linux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Oracle Linux 5 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ELSA-2013-0599 advisory.

- Buffer overflow in the e1000_receive function in the e1000 device driver (hw/e1000.c) in QEMU 1.3.0-rc2 and other versions, when the SBP and LPE flags are disabled, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (guest OS crash) and possibly execute arbitrary guest code via a large packet. (CVE-2012-6075)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected xen, xen-devel and / or xen-libs packages.
