Synopsis
The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security-related patch.Description
Will Drewry, of the Google Security Team, discovered buffer overflows in GDB's DWARF processing. This would allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code with user privileges by tricking the user into using GDB to load an executable that contained malicious debugging information.Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.
